It is with a heavy heart that we have to write this. We lost our best friend, Enzo, on September 26th after a one month battle with Hemangiosarcoma. We would not have believed anyone before that August 23rd diagnosis that he would not be here today. Ernie wrote a tribute to Enzo that we would like to share:
From the first time I saw the little five week old puppy with the orange yarn around his neck I knew he was special, just how special I never dreamed. I could list pages of accomplishments and stories of his successes but that is too much to think about at the present moment. He was born February 9th 2004 the last puppy in a litter of 6. This was the last time he would ever be "last". He came home April 2004 and became "ENZO". From that day he was my constant companion, never leaving my side, always happy to be part of whatever I was doing. Through Enzo I saw more of the United States than I had in all my previous years. The best tour guide one could ever ask for. As with all the best things in life they end much too soon. God took Enzo from us today because he must have wanted to have him by his side as he was by mine for 7 years 7 months. Enzo had a life filled with love, touching every stranger he met in a way that left each and every one of them saying "I want a dog just like that". There will never be another like him and my only wish is that everyone who ever patted him on the head, scratched his bearded chin, or was lucky enough to get one of his kisses remembers how special they felt in that moment. I have thousands of these memories flooding through me and it is the only thing that washes away the sadness for a minute here and there.
Enzo had an incredible show career!
